The Event node is the starting point of every flow. It is required, and there is exactly one per flow. It attaches the flow to an event: when that event occurs, the flow runs.

The Event node exposes the event's parameters to the rest of the flow, so later nodes can use those values. Because one event can drive many flows, a single event triggers every flow attached to it: if ten flows are attached to "Order Placed", all ten run whenever an order is placed.

Delay

You can optionally set a delay on the Event node, so the flow runs a set time after the event occurs rather than immediately. A delay is useful when a check only makes sense after some time has passed, for example verifying an order's state 30 minutes after it was placed.

There are two types of delay:

  • Fixed sets the same delay every time. Choose a preset (30 seconds, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days) or set a custom delay in days, hours, minutes, and seconds.
  • From event param reads the delay from an event parameter at runtime, so it can differ for each event. Select the parameter to use; its value must be a number in seconds. If the parameter is missing, the flow runs without a delay.
Name
name of the node.
Description
an optional description of the node.
Event
the event that triggers the flow, chosen from a dropdown.
Delay
(optional) how long to wait after the event before running the flow, either a fixed value or read from an event parameter.
