Overview

What is Vaurd?

Vaurd is a low-code, agent-based platform for validating business rules against structured data systems at runtime. Users define validation logic as flows in a web application. Lightweight agents deployed inside the user's own environment execute those flows when events occur, evaluate the configured rules against connected source systems, and trigger actions when a rule is not met. All data processing happens locally within the user's environment; the data being validated does not leave their network.

Vaurd has two parts:

  • Platform (control plane): a web application where users configure sources, events, flows, and actions, and register and monitor agents.
  • Agent (execution plane): deployed in the user's environment; executes flows, connects to source systems, and triggers actions.

Where Vaurd sits

Vaurd runs as a split control-plane / data-plane system.

The Vaurd platform is a web application (control plane). It holds configuration metadata (sources, events, flows, actions), manages agent registration, plugin distribution, and health monitoring, and stores execution analytics reported by agents. It does not receive or store the business data being validated.

The Vaurd agent runs inside the user's own environment (cloud VPC, on-prem, or similar). It:

  • receives events emitted by the user's systems (via API endpoint or SDK),
  • executes the flows that starts with received event,
  • connects locally to source systems (databases, data warehouses, ERP systems, APIs) to fetch and evaluate data,
  • triggers actions to external systems (Gmail, Slack, Outlook, or custom APIs) when a rule is not met.
  • reports execution analytics (e.g. how many flows ran and their outcomes) back to the Vaurd platform.

Configuration metadata, agent health, and execution analytics pass between the agent and the platform, and Vaurd stores the analytics. The actual business data being validated is never sent to Vaurd; it stays entirely within the user's environment.

Diagram: the Vaurd platform sits outside your environment and communicates registration, plugin and analytics data with the Vaurd agent inside your VPC / cloud / on-prem boundary. Inside that boundary, your systems emit events to the agent, the agent queries source system databases, and the agent calls out to action targets like Gmail, Slack, Outlook or custom APIs. Business data never leaves the boundary.
